Venus top Kiwi

Michael Venus has won the battle of the Kiwi tennis Olympians at the ATP tournament in Gstaad, Switzerland. Seeded No 1 for the tournament, Venus and Croatian partner Mate Pavic defeated fellow New Zealander Marcus Daniell and Brazilian Marcelo Demoliner 7-6(3) 7-6(5) in the quarterfinals of the event. The match took just over 90 minutes and had both sides similar in the stats but Venus and Pavic won the vital tiebreak points. Venus and Daniell will combine in Rio for a rare New Zealand shot at a tennis medal.
