Driver flees crash

A 4-year-old walking to kindergarten had his leg broken in a hit-and-run. Police say they are still chasing the suspect who was allegedly speeding as he hit the boy and then fled the scene in Flat Bush, south Auckland, last Thursday. As the boy crossed the road with his mother and cousin, the mother noticed a white sedan hurtling towards her, police said. She pulled both children back, but the car struck her son’s right leg, breaking it.
