Bin laden

Can anybody please tell me why the recycling bins are changing to wheelie bins?

Although apparently not for glass.

I was told this was to make it easier for the elderly to take it out for pickup, but isn’t glass so much heavier?

I personally have two blue bins, one for glass and one for the rest, plus a wheelie bin for nonrecyclables.

Is it seriously expected of people to fill their yards with more bins?

I think it should definitely be optional, as the current system seems to be working very well.

If people have surplus to recycle they can opt for one, but the average person doesn’t need more issues than they already have.
