Kind Open draw

Marina Erakovic has been drawn against world tennis No 163 Yafan Wang, of China, tomorrow in the first round of qualifying at the US Open. The New Zealand No 1 is the eighth seed at the qualifying event for the final grand slam of the year, because of her world ranking of 113. The two players have never played each other. Wang, 22, has only made it to the first round of a grand slam once before, at this year’s Australian Open. Erakovic, 28, needs to win three matches to make it through to the first round of the main draw.
