Kiwi singer caught up in sex-tape scandal

Waikato police are searching for a tractor they believe may have been taken by the occupants of a car that crashed into a paddock on Monday night. Police had pursued the car, a Nissan Skyline, across the Hauraki plains to Orini where it crashed. The occupants fled on foot and the farmer realised his John Deere tractor was missing yesterday. Celebrity opera singer Teddy Tahu Rhodes is caught up in a sex-tape scandal across the Tasman.

The 47-year-old singer — partner of Australian TV golden girl Lisa McCune — is allegedly in a leaked video tape with a mystery brunette.

The video, which apparently shows the couple having sex, has been leaked to two women’s magazines in Australia.

and New magazines reported yesterday the explicit footage showed the New Zealand-born performer engaging in intercours­e with an unknown brunette woman.

It was not clear exactly when the video was created but it was thought to have been filmed some years ago, as Tahu Rhodes appeared without some of his more recent tattoos.

reported McCune was shocked by the emergence of the video but her representa­tives declined to comment.

The Gold Logie-winning actress, 43, is starring with Rhodes in the Australian musical production of

in Melbourne. The pair struck up a relationsh­ip after co-starring in in 2012. They were both married at the time and were photograph­ed kissing and cuddling in public outside a coffee shop in Melbourne.

Both have refused to discuss their relationsh­ip but the former Christchur­ch star said this year that he understood the couple’s chemistry made them attractive for producer John Frost to cast.

“I think that’s what makes it work — the chemistry is really important. We’ll leave it at that,” he said.

McCune married Tim Disney in 2000. They have three children together.
