Courier admits careless driving

-

A courier truck driver has admitted a charge of careless driving causing injury after backing into a young mother, leaving her leg “practically severed”.

Shaymvedh’s CourierPost truck pinned Grey Lynn mother-of-two Preeya Patel against a wall in Richmond Rd in February. Mrs Patel’s leg was injured in what was described as an “absolutely horrid” scene.

In the Auckland District Court yesterday Shaymvedh, 58, admitted a charge of careless and inconsiderate driving causing injury. He will be sentenced next month.
