Carmel Fisher
In a relatively faceless industry, Carmel Fisher has become one of the country’s few recognisable fund managers.
Since founding Takapuna-based Fisher Funds in 1998, she has grown the firm to the point where it manages close to $7 billion for over 260,000 clients including KiwiSaver schemes, charities, community trusts and individuals.
The company, which is 49 per cent owned by TSB Bank, became the largest New Zealand-owned and managed KiwiSaver provider in 2013 after acquiring Tower Investments for $79 million.
