All Black great adds to trophy cabinet
Spark Vodafone 140 complaints sellers on Trade Me 121 117 68 All Black great Daniel Carter has received the sought-after Academie des Sports grand prize in France. Carter, who is playing his second season with Top 14 Parisian side Racing 92, is the first New Zealander to receive the award, which is for the greatest sporting achievement of the year as voted for by the Academie des Sports. The 34-year-old has been filling up his trophy cabinet in the past two years. He was named 2015 World Rugby player of the year, player of the match in last year’s Rugby World Cup final — won by the All Blacks over Australia 34-17 — and helped lead Racing to the Top 14 title. Previous winners of the Academie grand prize include Usain Bolt, Sebastian Vettel, Steffi Graf, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Michael Schumacher. Carter, a 112-test veteran, tweeted: “Thanks to the Academie des Sports members for my award tonight. Nice to be honoured alongside some of France’s best athletes.”
