Researcher­s may have discovered a novel way to treat kidney stones — a roller coaster ride. It may facilitate the passage of small kidney stones, according to a report in the Journal of the American Osteopathi­c Associatio­n. Researcher­s at Michigan State University conducted a study after a series of patients reported passing kidney stones after riding the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad roller coaster at Walt Disney World in Orlando. Strollers and cyclists can breathe easy on the banks of the Seine after Paris approved a plan to ban cars on a long stretch of riverside road cutting across the city. A centrepiec­e of Mayor Anne Hidalgo’s battle against pollution, a recent opinion poll found 55 per cent support for the plan among Parisians. The car ban applies to 3.3km of an expressway on the Right Bank of the Seine. The €8 million project will add walkways and greenery while leaving a lane for emergency vehicles.
