300-home plan

Part of Pt England Reserve will be used for a 300-home project, says Housing Minister Nick Smith. The Tamaki Redevelopment Company and Ngati Paoa has supported the decision to develop 11.7ha of the 48ha reserve for housing and a further 2ha for a marae. The iwi would buy the land at market value. At least 20 per cent of the homes at the reserve will be social housing, says Smith.
