On sport support

Captain Abby Erceg has quit the Football Ferns citing pathetic remuneration from New Zealand Football and HPSNZ due to their failure to make the knockout stages of the 2015 World Cup. Surely a sport in the doldrums needs more support, not less. Lynton Diggle, Titirangi.

On cats

Emmerson's cartoon yesterday about the cats and the canvasser is delightful. I wouldn't be surprised if Gareth Morgan wants to buy the original drawing to hang on his wall. Anne Martin, Helensville.

On drivers

When I came back to live in Auckland after spending many years overseas, I soon saw the way to survive driving on the roads here was to acknowledge the only reason road rules were made in the first place was to break them. Elly Inta, Henderson.

On blah

My grandchildren keep asking me, why does everything they hear on the radio or TV happen at “the end of the day”? They want me to explain why things don’t happen in the morning or the afternoon.

Ron Davis, Albany.

On Dotcom

If Kim Dotcom has nothing to fear, why doesn’t he go to the US and sort it out? This inquiry is one big farce, which is costing the taxpayers and courts a lot of money. John Campbell, Westmere. All the judges and other legal costs to extradite Kim Dotcom should be paid by the US, not the New Zealand taxpayer.

Bruce Tubb, Belmont.
