$150k fishing boat lure for show

-

The chance to win a $150,000 fishing boat is up for grabs from today until Sunday.

The Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show at ASB Showgrounds is offering what organiser Mike Rose believes is the biggest-value prize ever seen at an Australasian boat show.

Punters could take their entry ticket to seven stamping booths around the show and after receiving a stamp from each and filling in their details, were in the draw to win.

The Surtees boat with twin Yamaha engines came with a swag of onboard extras, including a fish finder, radar and nautical GPS system, Rose said.

“It comes with a tank of gas and the trailer is warranted, so basically as soon as you win it you can put it in the water and go boating.”

The show begins today at 10am and runs until Sunday.

Entry costs $20 and is free for children 16 and under.

Boat lovers can check out the range of new GRP and aluminium trailer boats and luxury launches, as well as a display of old outboard engines including the only outboard engine ever made in New Zealand.

Boats big and small will be on display, including a squadron of model boats which can be raced in a mini man-made lake.

Free fishing seminars will teach people how to cast off and a range of fishing gear will also be on sale.
