A lucky Lotto player won $1 million thanks to a free ticket. The Waikato man won a bonus ticket from the Powerball draw on Wednesday last week but on Sunday realised that free ticket had made him a millionaire. “I went and checked my ticket on Thursday after the draw and the man behind the counter told me I had won a Bonus ticket, which I was quite happy with. So I popped it in my wallet and totally forgot about it.” The man in his 30s, who wishes to remain anonymous, said he couldn’t stop shaking after hearing the news.
