The Budget for business
Infrastructure $11 billion over four years
$4b allocated this year, including $812m to rebuild the earthquake-damaged SH1 link around Kaikoura. More detail expected on Thursday.
Film industry $303.9m
Includes $222m over four years – and $18m for 2016-17 – to continue the International Screen Production Grant, plus $63.9m to maintain the domestic component of the grant.
Tourism $178m for tourism infrastructure
Includes $102m Infrastructure Fund to provide more toilets, carparks and camping facilities over four years. Plus $76m for the Department of Conservation.
Trade $91.3m over four years
To target free trade agreements covering 90% of NZ goods exports by 2030. Includes $35.3m for primary industries to work on boosting the value of exports, and $20m for MFAT to focus on improving market access.
R&D $74.6m more
To meet demand for Callaghan Innovation’s R&D grants.
