Backing prodigy

Red Bull has backed its talent identification by signing a child prodigy to its world motorsport portfolio. Finnish rally star Kaile Rovanpera — son of former WRC driver Harri Rovanpera — is yet to even drive in a WRC event but that hasn’t stopped the Austrian energy drink empire offering him a sponsorship deal. The 16-year-old is competing in local Italian, Latvian and Finnish events but is expected to debut at Rally GB later this year.
