Why does the Herald continue with its myopic reportage of wealth creation in New Zealand? Young Kiwis deserve to know that despite Steven Joyce’s goal of everyone becoming a self-made millionaire by 40, the Graham Harts, Fay Richwhites and Russian oligarchs of the world got their start through the opportune but not shameful acquisition of cheaply sold state assets.

Give people realistic goals instead — like housing and affordable childcare.
