Short & sweet On Rohingya On pipe

-

Karen Rennie, Henderson. I wonder if Sir John Key in his position on the board of Air New Zealand will be asking the National government for compensation due to its incompetence in not securing the pipeline during its nine years in office. Aidan Crabtree, Titirangi. Why does it take 10 days to fix a pipe? Bruce Tubb, Belmont.

On pollution

On Emmys

You have to admire the presenters and recipients at the Emmy Awards. What raw courage must it have taken to stand before the assembled glitterati and have a pop at Donald Trump. Who said these people were empty clanging vessels? Stuart Rattenbury, Royal Oak.

On ‘bedder’

I find it rich that anyone could find fault with Jacinda's pronunciation after years of enduring a PM who was unintelligible at best and could hardly string a sentence together. R. Howell, Onehunga.
