Ryder gets No 24

Former international batsman Jesse Ryder’s 24th first-class hundred left Central Districts well placed at 395 for six after the first day of their Plunket Shield match against Auckland in Nelson. Ryder added 149 for the fifth wicket with Dane Cleaver, and another 152 with Doug Bracewell for the sixth. Stephen Murdoch made 114 in Wellington’s 369 against Otago at the Basin Reserve, the southerners nine for one in reply. Canterbury were 289 for four at stumps against Northern Districts in Rangiora.
