Car hits trio

A car hit a taxi in West Auckland before mounting the kerb and injuring a woman and her two young daughters, a witness says. All three were rushed to hospital. Trudi Ashby was with her 8-year-old twins when the crash happened soon after 3pm near Sturges Rd Kindergarten and Western Heights School in Henderson. “I heard a crash and . . . saw a car cross the road into oncoming traffic,” she told the Herald. The car hit a taxi and spun, mounted the footpath and hit the woman and two children.
