Offensive interference
Even allowing for the fact she is very much a learner in the prime minister stakes, Jacinda Ardern is showing her ignorance to a high degree. One country does not have the right to interfere in another’s internal affairs and to do so is highly offensive. Her action with regard to the Manus Island “refugees” is particularly incorrect as they are not refugees in the true sense of the word.
If she wants to accept more refugees she, representing the Government of this country, can do so but she should source them from the many genuine refugees who have followed defined procedures and not encourage those who have had the wherewithal to jump the queue.
To persist in badgering the Prime Minister of Australia, our closest ally, is particularly impertinent and might be seen as an attempt to destabilise his position in the interests of the Australian Labor Party. Rod Lyons, Muriwai.
