On state houses

- Russell Baillie, Mt Eden.

In the early 1960s my part-time job involved talking to many people living in state houses. In most cases they felt it was a privilege to be in a low-rent home when they needed it, and they looked after it. Today, it often seems to be seen as a right to be there, even permanently.
