Confusion reigns

-

As the year draws to a close and I have a few years chasing at my heels there are still many things that I do not understand in this world.

I will not go into the vagaries of the American President — that is for others — my concerns are smaller but just as irritating.

First, when I phone a company and I get a message that says “Your call is important to us” why then am I directed to their website or email address? If I had wanted those I would have gone there in the first place — I am phoning for a specific reason, I WANT TO TALK TO SOMEONE.

Next is the confusion caused by the various methods of paying for parking at parking meters — there are many differences in how to insert your money and I refuse to put $5 onto a credit card when I have $5 in change in my purse.

When I am sitting outside at a cafe enjoying coffee I do not want to have a dog slobbering over my leg. Nor do I want to sit through a dog fight when the owners don’t seem to be able to restrain their animals. You love your dog — not everyone else does.

And finally, as a fashion item torn jeans are quite beyond my comprehension — and I am itching always to give advice on how to patch, darn and repair such damage. So far I have restrained myself which is probably a good thing.

I am hoping that in the new year some of these puzzles will be revealed to me or maybe I will continue on as confused as ever into a bright new year.
