Tough task

Former Speaker David Carter (left) may have been disappointed at losing the job when the Government changed, but defeat has its perks. This week he is in the Maldives for a meeting of the InterParliamentary Union Committee on the Human Rights of Parliamentarians. It’s tough work, and there is no rest: Carter must then fly on to the 138th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly gathering in Geneva.
