Toilet tax

The entertaining headline distracts from the very serious key issue: this would be another PPP project (public-privatepartnership) meaning more infrastructure will be privatised. You should explain in simple words what a “special purpose vehicle” is, so more than just a select few of your readers will understand what this is all about.

In the end the simple truth is, if we own the infrastructure of New Zealand, we will own this country. If the infrastructure is for sale, even though it looks as if a “Crown entity” is involved and formally owns the project, we will lose control of the country and in the process democracy will go down those tubes.

After the disaster Labour brought to this country in 1984, they do not seem to have learned their lesson. We do not want more and more and more privatisation. We want to own and control this country. We want to be free.

Hans Geese, Whangaparaoa.
