Self-packing

-

A. J. Read’s letter yesterday was very near the mark when she said, “Pak’n’Save has the best solution”. It should have read, “had the best solution”. This supermarket attracted its following not only on lower prices but by living up to its name by helping buyers recycle their purchases in used boxes and cartons. Very few Pak’n’Saves still recycle their used containers, typically on the grounds of expense. It is expensive in labour to keep the boxes and put them out for customers on the still existing packing benches.

However they should be putting their money where their name is by helping buyers to pack their groceries in recycled boxes which now go to scrap, regaining customers like me who turned to Pack’n’Save to do just that.
