On Government

One look around the world surely demonstrates how blessed we are to be New Zealanders. We are all aware of the legacy the previous government left our country. As a fair-minded people, let us leave our personal prejudices aside and wish our Prime Minister and the current government well.

Jewele McLeod, Kohimarama.

On speakers

If Lauren Southern and Stefan Molyneux wanted to exercise their right to free speech, then why didn’t they leave the comfort of their hotel rooms and walk to Aotea Square and say whatever they wanted ? Exercising free speech and being paid for exercising free speech are not the same thing. C.C. McDowall, Rotorua.

On AirBnBs

With the Auckland Council charging commercial rates of Air BnB operators would that not mean the operators have a reasonable expectation that the affected property should be zoned commercial one and have the rights subject to the building code of erecting a commercial building? Ross Harvey, Remuera.

On free speech

A quote from George Orwell; “The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those who speak it.”

Karl van de Water, Maungaturoto.

On GST

With talk of removing GST from women’s sanitary products, why not remove it from fruit and vegetables too? R. Wilson, Waipu.
