For stockists see locator at Bobbibrowncosmetics.com.

3. Too Faced Peach Blur Translucent Smoothing Finishing Powder $47

To safeguard your perfected makeup look, a powder adds insurance by keeping any oil ooze at bay. This one has a flattering peachy tint and optically blurs imperfections for a flawless finish. This year the returning Peach collection is even fruitier, smelling of peach and sweet fig cream. The limited edition line-up includes a mattifying makeup spray, primer, lightweight but long-wearing foundation and eye and cheek palettes. From Mecca Maxima and Meccabeauty.co.nz.

4. Tom Ford Lip Lacquer Extreme in Coral $88

You want velvety matte lips that last, but how about some on-trend metallic sheen? This new featherlight formula with a chrome finish melds the lot into a lip-smacking burst of concentrated colour. From Smith & Caughey’s.

5. Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Stick $91

Never fear, foundation sticks have moved on from being grease-paint thick. If you use the right one (come in YSL) its portable nature and matte coverage will prove an after-party godsend. Think of this as your foundation, corrector and finisher all in one. It glides on with a matte cream-to-powder texture that

blends easily and stays put without caking. With 18 shades to choose from, you’re covered. From selected department stores.

6. Skyn Iceland Blemish Dots $31

Sort an ill-timed eruption with a discreet cover-up that treats at the same time as it disguises. These adhesive gel patches help reduce redness and inflammation, making breakouts less obvious faster. Salicylic acid and anti-bacterial agents suction up poreclogging bacteria. Stick them on overnight or for a few hours at a time as needed. From Mecca Maxima and Meccabeauty.co.nz.

7. Neutrogena Youthful Boost Sleeping Mask $7

When sleep is on the short side, it is sensible to maximise your downtime. That’s where an effective night mask comes to the rescue. The skincare brand that brought sheet masks to the mass market Western consumer now offers an alternative style single-dose application that you don’t have to unfurl. Neutrogena’s economical leave-on gel pod mask comes in three overnight formulas to purify, hydrate or smooth (pictured). We found the pods contained more than enough product to stretch over several nights and being infused with hyaluronic acid provided a welcome night-time drink for the skin. Available from pharmacies and supermarkets.

8. Kevin Murphy Retouch Me $49

When there’s no time for a trip to the salon but your regrowth isn’t looking flash, a spray or powder cover-up for roots or greys is the quickest temporary solution. Kevin Murphy has come up with a light mist with a dry satin finish that you can layer to build shade intensity. Good news is that one of the shades is auburn which isn’t always easy to find in similar products. For salon stockists, call 0800 273 966.

9. Remington Air3D dryer $300

This innovatively shaped hairdryer delivers a smooth blow dry more easily, thanks to how it circulates air internally.

By compressing the heat, rather than having a typical design with an extended open-space barrel, turbulence is reduced. The latest ionic technology aids an anti-frizz finish. With its motor vertically positioned in the handle, the dryer is also lighter and more evenly balanced than traditional extended models. It comes with a diffuser and targeted heads for styling variety. Available from Farmers, for other stockists ph 0800 736 776.

10. Ghd Platinum + $380

This new predictive hair tool has been five years in the making, with ghd scientists looking to create “the world’s first smart styler”. Its electronic sensors pick up on the thickness of your hair, the section size you are styling and the speed at which it passes through between the panels to self-adjust power levels accordingly. This optimises even heat control to provide best results for healthy hair. Plus as we all know, a good styler is the fastest way to get zhuzhed for a big day. This one heats up in just 20 seconds. It goes on sale from Monday in black or white. Salon stockists and online at Ghdhair.com.
