Manning a betrayer

-

Chelsea, as Bradley, Manning was charged and convicted of the very serious crime of betraying a position of trust, to which he/she had signed on to, by leaking thousands of highly classified documents with which he had been entrusted, that revealed the range and effectiveness of the surveillance tools available to his Government. Having alerted every terrorist to their vulnerability to high-tech surveillance tools and techniques, Manning effectively equipped terrorists to avoid detection. Just how many innocent victims of terrorism are on her conscience, assuming Manning has one?

Now Manning has the audacity to charge people to listen to her story on the pretext of supporting free-speech. Anyone who pays to hear her speak is supporting her in her betrayal of trust.

It has been argued that it was never proved the Manning betrayal resulted in any particular deaths. However, what could that be proved is that after the release of those highly classified documents, terrorists throughout the world changed their operational procedures and tactics, and became much more effective at killing innocent people.

It has also been argues by free-speech advocates that Manning was only trying to protect the public from the preying eyes of Government. Does anyone seriously believe Manning read all those thousands of classified documents before he released them? Brian Main, Hamilton.
