Short and sweet

-

On heating

With all these ever-increasing expectations of what a landlord should provide, I am left wondering how I ever reached my eighth decade in good health without ever sleeping in a heated bedroom in colder climes than Auckland.

Linda Lang, Henderson.

On TV

Why is the morning TV One news programme so poor and the TV 3 news

programme so good? Why is the evening TV One magazine programme so good and the TV 3 magazine programme so poor? Ross Harvey, Remuera.

On coalition

When questioned about raising the intake of refugees to 1500 Winston replied, “That’s Labour policy, not the Government’s policy.” Does this indicate we are being governed by a minority

within a minority? Vive democracy.

A. D. Kirby, Papamoa.

Not being a devotee of Winston Peters, I want credit where it is due. For informing the Nauru Government NZ has its own poverty and will address this before trying to assist their social deficits, well done.

Jackie McCabe, RD Kaitaia.

On America

There have been several letters recently

criticising the US and John McCain as warmongers and other such garbage. The fact these people are free to write their letters in English is thanks to the Yanks. Wayne Carpenter, Glen Eden.

On expenses

It is now apparent why the PM did not criticise the travel expenses of the “meet Simon Bridges” tour. It is because she had already planned the costly trip to Nauru.

Ben Walker, Hamilton.
