On non-deportation

Following Jacinda’s advice and reading between the lines, I come to the conclusion that Karel Sroubek has made a large donation to the party.

Neville Cameron, Coromandel.

On massacre

It’s reported that President Trump said the massacre at the synagogue in Pittsburgh could have been prevented if they had armed guards. It is a sad reflection on society if armed guards are needed to allow people to worship in safety.

John Pollock, Pakuranga.

On fireworks

I’d like to point out the council is taking submissions on changes to a 2013 bylaw on public nuisance, including the sale of fireworks, with a “Have your Say” online.

Ellie Carruthers, Eden Terrace.

On duchess

Can the media please show more professionalism when referring to the royals. Meghan is not Meghan Markle, she is not Princess Meghan. She is Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. Maureen Moir, Kerikeri.

On transport

Wouldn’t it be better in the long term if the $1.4 billion cost of a busway from Panmure to Botany was put into extending the rail line from Panmure along this route? Mr L H Cleverly, Mt Roskill.

On eggs

Recently I bought “free-range eggs” and today “cage-free barn eggs”. I would like a photo of these chickens on the carton so I can see their living conditions, please.

Margaret Bongard, Grey Lynn.
