Pedestrian hurt

A person was hospitalised after apparently being hit by a car last night on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula, in the north of Auckland. A St John spokeswoman said the patient was in a serious condition at Auckland City Hospital after the collision on Ardern Ave in Stanmore Bay about 6.10pm. Police said officers attended the incident, which appeared to have occurred in a driveway.
