Don’t measure up

-

Yesterday’s editorial urges us to liberalise our late-term abortion laws and get them “up to date with real life”. It seems that in the case of abortion, size does matter. If you’re big enough you’re protected by laws which are “up to date”, if you don’t measure up, literally, you don’t get a chance at any sort of life.

The changes advocated by the editorial will strip away from unborn children the last vestiges of protection under the law. Unborn children will be reduced to the status of a bunion, a hernia, an appendix.

They will be reduced to a condition requiring surgical intervention. Unborn children don’t have a voice, they have no power, they are the most vulnerable of all. If they could speak they would say, “Please don’t kill us, give us a chance at life.”
