One ladder
In an otherwise interesting piece on Le Quesnoy, Michael Neilson perpetuates the myth that the New Zealand Rifle Brigade “used ladders to scale the defences”. They did not. They used only one ladder, because that was all they could find. This fact alone makes their achievement all the more astonishing.
