SQUEEZE GOES ON TRUMP
Democrats in the United States yesterday tapped into voter anger to wrest control of the House of Representatives, delivering a rebuke to the policies of President Donald Trump. A range of fresh candidates, many of them women, were elected. But Republicans added to their Senate majority by claiming a clutch of conservative states, suggesting that US cultural and political divisions may be deepening. The Midterm results indicate that the Democrats can put the brakes on the US President. They will be able to launch inquiries and wield subpoenas, leaving Trump facing a more hostile political environment.
