On parade

It is an insult to the ratepayers that Auckland Council is spending $45,000 on the Pride Parade. The proud people should pay and promote the parade, not the challenged and crushed citizens. David de Lacey, Remuera.

On cannabis

As Dr B. Fischer stated in Tuesday’s Herald, the legalisation of cannabis in Canada last month is a policy experiment. No rush here. Let us wait and see what the outcomes are for Canada. Deborah Railey, Royal Oak.

On Mars

Did they really just land on Mars or was it the Nevada Desert again? Greg Moir, Kerikeri.

On absolutely

Has anyone noticed the Prime Minister uses the word absolutely in almost all answers or statements? She must think this gives credibility to what she says. I am absolutely sick of the overuse of that word. Jenny Petersen, Kawerau.

On pedestrianisation

All sounds great, but does anyone ever give consideration to the 10 per cent of the population that have mobility problems. Hylton Le Grice, Remuera.

On paper

With the upcoming plastic bag ban I’ve started lining my bin with old copies of the Herald. It works a treat. Allison Kelly, Mt Eden.

On Warriors

At least the young Warriors stars now know what to expect near the end of their loyal, illustrious career. Neil Hatfull, Warkworth.

On Sroubek

I wonder if Mr Lees-Galloway could talk his way out of a paper bag. Janet Boyle, Stanmore Bay.
