Filly goes from Weir to Waller

-

Prominent New Zealand owner John Carter, who races under the banner of Jomara Bloodstock in conjunction with his brother Mark and sister Rachel, has confirmed that the talented 3-year-old filly Verry Elleegant will continue her career with Chris Waller.

The winner of the Gr.3 Ethereal Stakes (2000m) last spring, Verry Ellegant had been in training with Darren Weir, who was disqualified for four years earlier this week after not contesting Victorian stewards’ charges of possessing three electric or electronic apparatus.

“Obviously it all happened quite quickly,” Carter said.

“She had a jumpout on Monday at Terang but has now joined Chris Waller’s Flemington stable.”

Meanwhile, Carter said multiple Group One winner Humidor will join the stable of Ciaron Maher and David Eustace in the spring.

It was announced yesterday that Maher and Eustace would be opening a Ballarat stable and absorbing a number of the horses and staff from the Weir regime.

Obviously it all happened quite quickly.
