Scott Moir

(currently No.1 in the series standings):

Based in Taupo, this 35-year-old Suzuki rider has a solid 17-point lead at the top of the superbike class standings. He won the Suzuki Series outright back-to-back in 2017 and 2018, the popular three-round competition a perfect leadin to the nationals and this obviously set him up nicely to carry on the winning momentum.

Alastair Hoogenboezem (currently No.2 in the series standings):

A builder from Christchurch, this 26-yearold Yamaha rider can claim consistency as his main asset. He has not won a race thus far in the 2019 nationals, but neither has he yet finished below the top three on the race track.

Sloan Frost

(currently No.3 in the series standings):

A refrigeration engineer and 37-year-old fatherof-four, Wellington man Frost is the defending national superbike champion . He also won the crown for Suzuki in 2016 and, just four points adrift of Al Hoggenboezem in the 2019 standings, he’ll need to be watched closely at Hampton Downs.

Damon Rees

(currently No.4 in the series standings):

This 23-year-old Honda rider from Whakatane is no stranger to winning motorcycle titles and, quick to adapt from his first passion for racing motocross, he won the national Supersport 600 title in 2017, before then switching it up to the 1000cc superbike class. With two race wins under his belt already in the 2019 series, he is just three points behind Frost in the standings after two rounds.

Daniel Mettam

(currently No.5 in the series standings):

Glen Eden’s Mettam won the Suzuki Series’ 600cc Formula Two trophy in 2015 and the national 600cc supersport title in 2016. The Suzuki star finished overall runner-up in the Suzuki Series’ F1 class last year and finished third in the superbike class in the 2018 nationals. The 23-year-old is just 19 points behind Rees after two rounds.
