WHAT’S NEXT FOR ELECTRONIC-POP DUO SACHI

The sights have continuously risen high for talented Kiwi duo SACHI off the back of their recent New Zealand tour and theatrical live music experience in Auckland, aptly named 'Cirque du SACHI’. Once plugged by Global sensation Diplo in 2015 while the pair were still in high school, Will Thomas and Nick Chrisp the duo behind SACHI, have more recently signed with major US label ‘Casablanca Records’ based out of New York City.

“We signed in late 2018 which was a rad opportunity for us and so we said let’s take this and see how far we can run with it,” says one half of the duo Nick Chrisp. “We want to go over base ourselves there and basically try and hack America.”

Currently the duo have signed on as supporting act for Los Angeles natives, ‘Phantoms,’ another live electronic duo signed by the same record company. “We always had the goal of touring the USA and Canada and get some shows out there,” says Chrisp. “We’re starting to build up a network and connection with people we like working with over there.”

As for what the future holds for SACHI, Chrisp doesn’t hold back:

“A couple of years ago we were saying we want Grammys.” “And today that would still be great but currently we’re aiming to hold ourselves to the same level of quality we hold our idols and the greats and achieving that level of craftsmanship and artistry.”

And the pair aim to keep their fresh sound for electronic music alive by touring:

“If we can play our shows and take ourselves all over the world that would be great,” says Chrisp.

“There are elements to the whole process that are more work but I love it all, it’s in me, and it’s in Will.”

“We’re a dynamic pair because we’re so different and everyday we wake up and get to make something and express ourselves.” SACHI released their debut EP 'Lunch With Bianca' in 2016 featuring the hit single ‘No More’ which accumulated 2.5 million streams making it one of the first to achieve that status since the likes of Lorde and BROODS. More recently SACHI released 7-track EP ‘Nights With Ruby’ mid-2019 featuring one of the duo’s biggest singles ‘Sparking My Fire’ tilting their success to over 25 million cumulative streams worldwide and earning themselves two gold singles in New Zealand.
