Northland speed camera clocks up more than $2 million in fines
Liz Makene Does
● this look familiar? I know about half dozen people caught at this one, including myself
● So are speed cameras a deterrent or a revenue collection device. It appears that this camera is more about revenue collection with over 100 people caught speeding on a daily basis being fined 14 thousand dollars on average over a six month period. How about doing something constructive to reduce speed in this area as it appears the speed camera is not doing the job.
●
Hopefully they use the money to fix our roads
● Holy cow..that's a lot of revenue where does that go ? Hopefully to fix the roads..
● Shannon Baker Gosh, Everyone knows you don’t slow down til after the sign
● Just got mine in the post. Hope the money goes to fixing up the road markings coming up to that bridge close to here..hard to distinguish between the old and new ones especially at night..scary!
● Nicholas Connop Easy... don't want a ticket... don't speed.
● used to be 100km area it got me doing 92 I thought I wasn’t speeding 80 bucks later... very sneaking change from the council..talked to many friends that have had same happen. I was also looking hard out for a speed sign to know what speed to go but saw none! Maybe more signs need to b put up. The is subject to the New Zealand Media Council.
