Shopping centre squeezed for parking

-

Re car Parking at Kamo RdKensington Ave shopping centre:

I have no doubt that I will not be the first, or the last, to complain about the complete lack of adequate parking at this newly established retail centre.

Before the new development, the three pre-existing businesses alone engendered a considerable demand for parking, especially during the day. To those original premises have been added a new health centre (previously Kensington Primecare, next door, had its own separate parking area) and several high demand fast food outlets.

Whether the developers or the town council planning department are at fault, the result is that we now have parking facilities that are totally inadequate for the demand and the allotted space. A higher than average proportion of the elderly or infirm who utilise the Kensington Pharmacy or healthcare hub require reasonably accessible parking but can no longer be guaranteed of finding it. With its limited and tight parking spaces and restricted entrance and exit, the car parking area has become a timewasting nightmare . . . and more importantly, an area of greatly increased potential collisions and

accidents. Whether the developers or town planners are to blame for this current fiasco, someone needs to step up and explain what measures are being or will be taken to improve the situation.

Fluoride stance

This is a reply to Juliet Golightlys letter on March 26 saying she was disappointed in Sheryl Mai thoughts on fluoride. I support Sheryl’s stance.

I think Juliet needs to do some research on fluoride and not be taken

in by her so called public experts. The natural occurring fluoride is calcium fluoride.

A question for Ashley Bloomfield, what type of fluoride will he use and where does it come from?
