Master Plumber winners encourage Northland businesses
Bay of Islands Plumbing & Gas (BOIPG) owner Zane Britton is over the moon at taking the title of Supreme Master Plumber of the Year at this years New Zealand Plumbing Awards held in Rotorua on June 17. According to Zane the accolade is not just about celebrating his business but it’s also a win for Northland business as a whole.
“A big shout out to Northland, our clients, fellow businesses, and support network we’ve had over the years, it’s a win for Northland as we often see work going to outside competitors and the profits spent outside of our region. For BOIPG this win is a stake in the ground saying Northland can do this.”
Hot on the heels of this victory at the NZ Plumbing Awards, Zane and the team are busy preparing to enter this year’s Northland Business Excellence Awards, hoping the robust health check and judging process will propel them further along their business growth journey. Zane outlined how the NZ Plumbing Awards application criteria was very similar to the NorthChamber NBEA application process, “it was a strenuous procedure and examined every aspect of running a trade business.”
Fiona Cox is the NorthChamber membership coordinator and lead for the Northland Business Excellence Awards entries, she is delighted to see a business like BOIPG enter the Awards, reiterating Zane’s message that we have excellent businesses in Northland who should not be shy to put the spotlight on their business to highlight their achievements, as well as look to how they can use the Awards process as a platform to review and lift their operations.
“There is something to be gained no matter the size or maturity of the business. Often the perception of how much work the entry might take puts people off, but I encourage people to just give it a go, we are here to support and we have lots of tips on how to make it easy on yourself.”
Entries to the NBEA Business Categories close Friday July 29, more information can be found on northlandbusinessawards.co.nz.
