ART: Great Plate 2022 is the Quarry Arts Centre annual fundraiser. Artists from make and decorate ceramic plates which are then auctioned via Trade Me to raise money for New Zealand's longest-running Arts Centre — celebratin­g 42 years this year. BOOKS: The Zonta Clubs of Whangārei and Mangakahia Lions have hundreds of books left over from the book sale last weekend so are holding another today from 8am to 3pm in the old Smith City building on the corner of Tarewa Rd and Porowini Ave. 3

A GOOD CAUSE: Dunk it for Plunket, in associatio­n with Arnott’s Farmbake, is a nationwide campaign that asks Kiwis – individual­s and groups — to host a morning tea and ‘Dunk it for Plunket”. FLOWERS: Catherine and David Davies-Colley have once again offered to open their magnificen­t Magnolia Gardens to the public this year in support of I Have a Dream Charitable Trust. These large gardens are beautifull­y planted with hundreds of magnolia trees which will be in full flower. Today and tomorrow 10-4pm. 5

RUN/WALK: Why not take part in the Far North for the Summit Forests Kaitaia Trail Run/Walk? The double distance event engulfs Te Hiku Forests with a choice of 11km or 4km. Choose to run competitiv­ely and aim to get your name on the famous Pakn'Save Leaderboar­d or take it at your own pace with friends and whanau. Tomorrow 8am to 1pm. ¯ A
