Two major art events for Kaitaia

-

Arts Far North has two major events in the pipeline, starting with an Art and Craft Fair at the Dalmatian Hall in Kaitaia over the weekend of November 24-25. The main attraction will be artists demonstrating their skills, along with music, food and drink. Admission will be free.

To book a display area contact Jen Gay on (021) 058-8890 or Darlene on (09) 408-7089, email deebee.garden@gmail.com

That will be followed by Art in the Park, in Kaitaia’s Remembrance Park, on Saturday December 22, billed as a mad hatters-inspired ramble featuring a variety of art stalls. The artists’ work will be for sale, with prizes for adults and children who produce the maddest hat “and other mad stuff.” Again admission will be free.

A stage will also be set up for acts ranging from a community choir to a short Wonderland play (which will be repeated through the day).

Performance spaces are available for community groups, dancers, musicians, poets, kapa haka and more. Anyone who would like to perform should contact contact Darlene on (021) 0270-2893 or deebee.garden@gmail.com

Meanwhile auditions for the play The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, written by Lewis Caroll and the Backroom Writers of Kaitaia, are about to be called.
