Northland clubs on fire in darts tournament rounds

RSA Totara hit three 180s in against Raiders

RSA Totara were on fire away to Collards Raiders. A magnificen­t Totara hit 3 x 180s, two from Sam Ruke and one for Stu Job. Raiders Fergie Raumati hit the match high finish of 89 and Derek Ashley top scored. Dan Job top scored for Totara while Ariana Popata hit their top finish of 80 and had two great wins. Totara topple the Raiders and win 12-4.

RSA Nomads stayed home and took on the Aces from Ahipara. There were 62 tons registered, David and Harry Tepania scoring 31 of them. David hit a finish of 96 and Harry hit the match high finish of 104. Robbie Matthews led the Aces scoring but Nomads were too strong winning 10-6.

RSA Kauri hosted the Awaz Magpies and Tyla Stevenson led the Magpies scoring and finishing. Kauri’s Donna Smith was their top scorer, while Cam Thomas hit the match high finish of 65. Kauri win 13-3.

The East and West met at Coopers Beach where the Coasters took on the Ahipara Arrows, and this came down to a team game. There were 54 100 plus scores recorded, with Arrows Peter Currie hitting 13 and Coaster Bruce Jackson hitting 10. Coasters led 8-6 until Currie and Leighton Matthews won the last two games to take the match to 8 all and into the 1001 decider. Coasters recover well and get a dramatic 9-8 win.

Houhora Chiefs hosted Waipapakau­ri at the bowling club where Chief Simon Job led their scoring while also hitting a 180 and the match high finish of 152. Of the 58 ton plus scores noted Waipapakau­ri hit 39 and their scoring led the way for a 13-3 win.

Mussel Rock hosted Awanui Dwi. Erana Watts hit a high score of 165 for Awanui and along with

Gina Dunn top scored. The Rocks Jamie Hilton-Jones hit 16 100 plus scores while Denny Watling hit the match high finish of 96. Mussel Rock win 15-1.

XL Mussel Rock hosted Houhora Warriors where there were 73 ton plus scores hit. Chris Silich led XL scoring and hit a 171 while Rocky Manga hit a match high finish of 102. Warrior Shane Godinet hit a 94 finish, alas XL were too powerful and won 13-3.
