Ideal for a family day out, visitors can feed the animals by either buying a bag of food for $2.50, or bring some bread, apples or carrots from home. There is also trout food available for $1.50, and the opportunit­y to feed some of the park’s giant eels. Weather permitting, have a free, off-road tractor-trailer ride between 11.30am-3.30pm and a tour at 12.45pm for those wanting to hear more about some of the animals. Have some lunch at Staglands’ cosy cafe, situated in an old log building with an open fire, or make the most of the barbecue and picnic areas on sunny days.
