Supremely spacious in Chews Lane

-

ASUPREMELY spacious and sunny fourbedroom apartment is expected to sell for above $2.695 million when tenders close on November 9.

Apartment 17E, 9 Chews Lane, stands out because of not only its floor area – 263 square metres (plus decking) – but also its dazzling dual aspect, with iconic east-west views, and two car parks (plus storage pod).

It’s the biggest apartment in the prestigious Willis Bond & Co development, with multiple living areas, three-to-four bedrooms, three bathrooms, study, and front and rear balconies to capitalise on morning and afternoon sun.

The immense open-plan living/ dining areas and kitchen are made even more dramatic by the breathtaking, wall-to-wall, floor-toceiling panorama that stretches from the town belt to the Hutt Valley, with intimate views over Te Papa, the Clyde Quay marina and Oriental Bay.

The space is as flexible as it is expansive and includes Victorian ash hardwood floors, built-in bookcases, four window bays and access to a recessed, covered balcony for year-round al fresco living.

The kitchen includes a six-burner, 90-centimetre-wide Bosch oven, marble benchtops and island/ breakfast bar, Asko dishwasher and Bosch refrigerator/freezer with icemaker.

Two of the carpeted bedrooms are in a separate wing, with the main bedroom facing east and opening to a balcony (it also has a dressing area and tiled ensuite with a shower cabinet, dual-basin vanity and toilet).

The adjoining bedroom has a semi-ensuite while the third bedroom is on the western side, opens to a balcony, and has its own ensuite – complete with tiled bath – and dressing area.

There’s also a west-facing study, which looks across the city to Kelburn, as does the fourth bedroom or optional media room with a balcony.

Other features include central heating in the living areas, underfloor heating in the bathrooms, a heat pump, separate laundry, extensive hall storage and separate toilet.

‘‘This would be one of the biggest apartments in Wellington, with the bonus of it all being singlelevel living,’’ Michael Jones, of Lowe & Co Realty, says.

‘‘The living space is incredibly versatile, and the sun and views amazing.

‘‘It’s also in one of the city’s best developments and locations – you don’t have to plan to go anywhere, you just pop into the lift and go for it.

‘‘The complex also meets more than 100 per cent of the New Building Standard and has its own gymnasium and theatrette.’’
