Delivery bagging for my Food Bag

- JULIE ILES

Some My Food Bag customers are still waiting for their meals to be delivered, up to two days after they were due.

Auckland customers are complaining delivery of boxes with packaged ingredients and recipes for subscribers to cook at home have not arrived.

Chief executive Cecilia Robinson said on Monday the company had been experiencing ‘‘teething problems’’ since its move to a new south Auckland warehouse over the past two weeks.

Robinson at the time said, ‘‘By 5pm today [Monday] 70 per cent of missing orders will be delivered and by 9pm [Monday], 100 per cent will be delivered.’’

But some customers said yesterday their meals had still not arrived.

One customer, who did not want to be named, said she normally has My Food Bag delivered on Sunday between 3pm and 6pm, but this week’s order did not arrive.

Despite being told by the company’s ‘‘Customer Love’’ staff that the bags would be delivered to her doorstep on Monday afternoon, nothing turned up.

Svetlana Strelets said she has cancelled the service because of the company’s ‘‘blank promises’’ and poor communication.

Strelets, too, had been told she would receive a delivery on Monday by 9pm when she called the service at 8pm, but it did not arrive.

She said the call centre put her on hold for 45 minutes yesterday morning, and she was offered a credit because her order had not been sent.

‘‘However [I was] promptly charged for the next box this morning. It means I am not interested in My Food Bag anymore.

‘‘I tend to plan budget and meals for the week and misleading information for 48 hours is not ok.’’

My Food Bag spokeswoman Deborah Pead said more than 99 per cent of the weekly Auckland orders were delivered.

Pead said Sunday and Monday deliveries were affected. The company does not deliver on Tuesday.

‘‘My Food Bag is in the process of engaging with the foodies who did not receive their weekly delivery,’’ Pead said.

‘‘My Food Bag apologises for letting them down, they will all receive a full credit for their missed delivery and a discount towards the next.’’

My Food Bag employs 150 staff across New Zealand and another 850 delivery contractors.

The company has delivered over 35 million meals since its launch in 2013.

Robinson did not respond to repeated requests for comment yesterday.
