Santa claws

-

It will be a case of paws and claus in Wellington this weekend, as David Jones throws open its doors for pets to meet Santa.

The store will give Wellingtonians an opportunity to take photos with their furry friends and Santa.

Any household pet, from rabbits to cats and dogs will be welcomed into the store.

The photo opportunity might even help pet owners find out what their four-footed friends want for Christmas this year.

The pet meet and greet is being held at the David Jones Christmas Cave in Wellington for the first time this year.

It follows the success of the program in Australia.

‘‘At David Jones, we are always looking for fun ways to celebrate the festive season with our customers and help them create great memories at Christmas time,’’ Jacq Vuleta, General Manager Store Operations, David Jones said.

‘‘Santa PAWtraits has been one of our most popular initiatives in Australia.’’

People can book a time to take their pet to meet Santa at the store this weekend, but are encouraged to only bring household pets.

‘‘Our customers consider their pets a part of the family, with our research revealing that on average they are spending $22 on a Christmas gift for their pet,’’ Vuleta said.

❚ PAWtraits at David Jones store in Wellington will run from 9am to 6pm today and 10am to 5pm tomorrow. People are encouraged to book a time online first.
