Khandallah views seal the deal
A‘‘NEAR-NEW’’ Khandallah home with show-stopping city and harbour views has been auctioned for more than $300,000 above its rateable value.
The property, at 26A Punjab St, had a rateable value of $900,000 and sold for $1.23 million.
Holly Fordham, of Harcourts, says the fourbedroom house dated to the 2000s but had been rebuilt in 2011.

She says the 241-square-metre dwelling was meticulously presented with two lounges, three bathrooms, open-plan kitchen and dining.

A CHARMING company share apartment in Lyall Bay has sold in the early $200,000 range.
The one-bedroom unit, at 8/84 Freyberg St, included one off-street car park.

A KILBIRNIE property with two dwellings has sold for just above 25 per cent of its rateable value of $495,000.
The property, at 20 Yule St, combined a two-storey, three-bedroom house at the front of the 220sqm section with a separate selfcontained studio at the rear and two off-street car parks.
Jason Knott, of Professionals Wellington City & Suburbs, marketed it as a great standalone investment or a chance to live in the house and rent the studio to help pay the mortgage. ‘‘The property always had appeal as a solid home-and-income opportunity,’’ he says.
