Merry Christmas, and be safe
Summarise the year in one word, I was asked recently. Crikey.
Personally, I’d say ‘‘family’’; professionally, it would be ‘‘Trump’’. Love or loathe him, he’s probably featured in your paper every day . . . and locally we can say that only about crossword puzzles, the five-minute quiz and the weather.
They all tie together nicely as most of us put our feet up . . . may the weather be kind as you spend time with your wha¯nau and friends, perhaps do a crossword puzzle (and yes, we’ll have the bonus ones again) or test your general knowledge, and may your 2019 trump 2018.
It’s been a huge year jam-packed with news – good and bad – and for many, Christmas and the summer break cannot come one day too soon.
All of us at Stuff Wellington and The Dominion Post wish you a kind, calm, peaceful and safe Christmas. Or, if you don’t celebrate this particular holiday, a wonderful festive season.
Thanks, too, to all the people working over summer – not only the police and emergency services but everyone whose work helps keep our lives ticking over.
There will not be a Dominion Post tomorrow but we’ll be back on Boxing Day and beyond. News will, of course, continue to be served up online. Thank you for your continued support.
